Description
This is an adult male Brewer's Blackbird. The Brewer's blackbird is a medium-sized New World blackbird. It is named after the ornithologist Thomas Mayo Brewer. Adult males have black plumage with an iridescent purple head and neck and glossy bluish-green highlights on the rest of the body. The feet and legs are black and the eye is bright yellow.

A lovely capture of my favourite songbird. I thought that it must be a female, as it does not have a yellow beak, which distinguishes the male from the female - at least over here. Certainly he is a handsome little fellow!
