Description
This is an Egyptian Goose protecting his goslings near a lake in Irvine California. Egyptian geese were considered sacred by the Ancient Egyptians, and appeared in much of their artwork. Because of their popularity chiefly as an ornamental bird, escapees are common and feral populations have become established in Western Europe, the United States, and New Zealand.

Fantastic capture, Shoal! Angry bird!! I have never seen an Egyptian goose before. Very beautiful and they're eyes are more in the front where most I see are more toward the sides. Well captured.

He is certainly in defense mode! And very brave too, when you think of the relative sizes of a fully grrown man and this bird! Great capture!
