A young killer whale playing with some kelp with his tail. This went on for about 15 minutes before she moved on. I took this image from the deck of the National Geographic Sea Bird while in Southeast Alaska

I do pray the whale was okay, that was rope, and why I hate fishing. Great capture!
Shoal Hollingsworth replied:
Thank you Carol but it really was Kelp, we watched for over an hour as this pod swam with us. The National Geographic crew we were with told us this was kelp too

I hope this whale was all right, that's not kelp.
Shoal Hollingsworth replied:
Thank you Constance, we watched this pod for a long time before they all swam off, all was fine
